Alban CHAPPAZ holds a PhD in Catalysis (2014) from a partnership between Ecole Normale Supérieure (Lyon, FR) and IFPEN. He completed a post-doc dedicated to catalyst and process design for lignocellulosic biomass valorization into useful building blocks. Since 2016, he is a research engineer at CEA-LITEN where he is in charge of designing heat-exchanger reactors and performing catalytic synthesis of various liquid products (methanol, hydrocarbons…). More recently, he also dedicated a part of its research to study catalytical hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions for hydrogen storage and transport by innovative Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC).
