UNICAM - University of Camerino
Francesco Nobili has earned his PhD in Chemical Sciences at University of Camerino in 2002, defending a Thesis “Preparation and electrochemical characterization of cathodes for Li-ion batteries based on Lithium, Nickel, Cobalt mixed oxides”. He has worked since then at the University of Camerino, where he is now Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry. The research activity of Prof. Francesco Nobili concerns the synthesis and the physico-chemical and electrochemical characterization of active materials for electrochemical energy storage and conversion devices, such as Li-ion and Na-ion batteries, Polymer Electrolyte Membrane and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs). His researches are aimed at sustainability, thus involving the development of sustainable composites, green electrode formulations; low-Pt-content catalysts, and the development and application of ex-situ and in-operando analytical methodologies for monitoring the state of health of batteries and fuel cells. He has spent research periods at the Laboratoire de Chimie du Solide Minéral of Nancy University (France), at the Chemistry Department of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, at the Physics Department of Hunter College of CUNY University in New York City, NY (USA).
