Carsten Søgaard is Business Development Manager at Burmeister & Wain Energy ApS located in Copenhagen. BWE ApS is the oldest still existing boiler manufacturer in the world and today a world leader of Biomass Boilers.
After graduation at the Technical University of Denmark 1999 as M.Sc. in Mechanical & Energy Engineering, Carsten started his carrier with a Ph.D. study under the topic UHC Reduction from Natural Gas Fired CHP Engines by reforming Natural Gas to contain free Hydrogen. In 2000 he was awarded the European Student Award for Innovative Energy Generation from PowerGen Europe.
He joined Burmeister & Wain Energy in 2009 holding various positions. Carsten Søgaard specializes in the commercial and technical aspects of conversion of large utility power stations to biomass, as well as green field boilers for complex biomass.
He has been speaker on GETS 2014 in New Delhi by NTPC under the topic Advanced Boiler Design, at Biomass to Power 2016 in Sevilla under the topic Efficient Energy Production, at ICBT 2022 in Krakow under the topic Coal to Bio Conversion and latest on GETS 2023 under the topic Mastering Complex Biomass.
